two great Dystopian reads!!!!

So last week I finished reading two great Dystopian genre books, one of my favorite genre. The first book is The Forever Song by Julie Kagawa, she is also the author to the Iron Fey series another great series, another favorite. This book, is the third and final book to the Blood of Eden series. So I advice you to read the first two books before reading this one. Here is a short synopsis for the three books.

Book 1:

Enter Julie Kagawa's dark and twisted world as an unforgettable journey begins..

To survive in a ruined world, she must embrace the darkness… Allison Sekemoto survives in the Fringe, the outermost circle of a walled-in city. By day, she and her crew scavenge for food. By night, any one of them could be eaten. Some days, all that drives Allie is her hatred of them—the vampires who keep humans as blood cattle. Until the night Allie herself dies and becomes one of the monsters. +

Forced to flee her city, Allie must pass for human as she joins a ragged group of pilgrims seeking a legend—a place that might have a cure for the disease that killed off most of civilization and created the rabids, the bloodthirsty creatures who threaten human and vampire alike. And soon Allie will have to decide what and who is worth dying for… again.

Book 2:

She has done the unthinkable: died so that she might continue to live. Cast out of Eden and separated from the boy she dared to love, Allie will follow the call of blood to save her creator, Kanin, from the psychotic vampire Sarren. But when the trail leads to Allie's birthplace in New Covington, what Allie finds there will change the world forever—and possibly end human and vampire existence.

There's a new plague on the rise, a strain of the Red Lung virus that wiped out most of humanity generations ago—and this strain is deadly to humans and vampires alike. The only hope for a cure lies in the secrets Kanin carries, if Allie can get to him in time. Allison thought that immortality was forever. But now, with eternity itself hanging in the balance, the lines between human and monster will blur even further, and Allie must face another choice she could never have imagined having to make.

Book 3:

Vengeance will be hers. Allison Sekemoto once struggled with the question: human or monster? With the death of her love, Zeke, she has her answer. Monster.

Allie will embrace her cold vampire side to hunt down and end Sarren, the psychopathic vampire who murdered Zeke. But the trail is bloody and long, and Sarren has left many surprises for Allie and her companions - her creator Kanin, and her blood brother, Jackal.

The trail is leading straight to the one place they must protect at any cost - the last vampire-free zone on Earth, Eden. And Sarren has one final, brutal shock in store for Allie. In a ruined world where no life is sacred and former allies can turn on you in one heartbeat, Allie will face her darkest days. And if she succeeds, her triumph will be short-lived in the face of surviving forever alone.

THE FINAL HUNT IS ON

Review:

So I have to say that I loved this series and I felt everything wrapped up well. Allie is such a kickass vampire. When you start off reading this book, you see Allie in a very dark place with the loss of Zeke, she wants revenge at all costs, she turns cold and lets the monster take over, Kanin tries to talk to Allie and warn her about letting the monster completely take over. Then there is Jackal and can I say one thing....I LOVE JACKAL.....

He is one badass cold hearted vampire but I love it!!! I loved how funny he was through out the series, he is my favorite character.

So there is some very big surprises in store, one very important character we thought is dead, is not really dead, just different in a sense. So we see Allie change come back to her less cold monster self and do what needs to be done. I felt Julie Kagawa really wrapped up this series well and I loved the ending. If you love Dystopian, zombies and Vampires with some kickass heroine this series is for you!!!!

So next book is Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey, the first book is The Fifth Wave, here is  the synopsis this book.

Book 1:

After the 1st wave, only darkness remains. After the 2nd, only the lucky escape. And after the 3rd, only the unlucky survive. After the 4th wave, only one rule applies: trust no one.

Now, it’s the dawn of the 5th wave, and on a lonely stretch of highway, Cassie runs from Them. The beings who only look human, who roam the countryside killing anyone they see. Who have scattered Earth’s last survivors. To stay alone is to stay alive, Cassie believes, until she meets Evan Walker.

Beguiling and mysterious, Evan Walker may be Cassie’s only hope for rescuing her brother—or even saving herself. But Cassie must choose: between trust and despair, between defiance and surrender, between life and death. To give up or to get up.

Book 2 Infinite Sea

How do you rid the Earth of seven billion humans? Rid the humans of their humanity.

Surviving the first four waves was nearly impossible. Now Cassie Sullivan finds herself in a new world, a world in which the fundamental trust that binds us together is gone. As the 5th Wave rolls across the landscape, Cassie, Ben, and Ringer are forced to confront the Others’ ultimate goal: the extermination of the human race.

Cassie and her friends haven’t seen the depths to which the Others will sink, nor have the Others seen the heights to which humanity will rise, in the ultimate battle between life and death, hope and despair, love and hate.

Review:

So much is going on with these characters, again we jump around to different characters, some new characters like Ringer, we actually get a lot of Ringer in this book we get to see what she went and is going through. To be honest I loved the first book more then this book, not saying this book wasn't great.

Cassie is dealing with the  possibility that Evan is dead and she struggles to deal with that. There is no way Evan can be dead. The group is now trying to survive and find a place to hide. When Ringer decides to take a solo mission, things do not go well, she is captured and now where she struggles to survive. I really felt for Ringer she goes through a lot and she opens her heart and soul.

I really wanted to see more of Cassie and Evan in this book. On the plus side we discover a huge and I mean huge details about the enemy here, I was not expecting that at all. Again great read, cant wait to read the third book!!!!

So if you are looking two really good series, here you go.
